Dress Code

Members of Wetherby Golf Club and guests are expected to maintain a reasonable and acceptable standard of dress at all times.

The Club Manager, Directors, PGA Professional and on duty staff  have the authority to act on Dress Regulation infringements. These issues should be dealt with in a manner advised in the Club’s Code of Conduct rules.

Club Directors may, from time to time, relax Dress Regulations; notices regarding these changes will be placed on the appropriate Noticeboards.

On the Course

Club members and visitors must wear smart, acceptable golf clothing at all times; shorts must be ‘tailored’ with knee-length stockings or white ankle-length sports socks. Mock turtleneck shirts with a round collar are permitted.

  • Sleeveless/collarless shirts
  • Non-tailored shorts
  • Tracksuits/leggings
  • Training shoes
  • Brief shorts
  • Sun-tops
  • T-shirts
  • Shirts outside trousers/shorts
  • Beachwear

Clubhouse

Smart casual wear is permitted, including tailored shorts with knee-length stockings or white ankle-length sports socks.

Exceptions

Children under the age of 11 may wear jeans and/or trainers.

Please note – Golf shoes are not permitted in the Clubhouse with the exception of the corridor from the Men’s locker room to the 1st tee. Members and guests are not permitted to enter the Clubhouse with bare or stockinged feet.

FORMAL DRESS REGULATIONS APPLY FOR DINNER EVENINGS, ORGANISED FUNCTIONS, PRESENTATION NIGHTS and for VISITING PARTIES.

For social events, notices will indicate the required standard of Dress where different from the above.
