Local Rules
Out of Bounds (OOB)
i) Beyond any fence or hedge bounding the course
ii) On or over (a) all trenches, fences or walls adjacent to the railway embankment (b) the trench on the flood bank when playing the 6th hole only.
iii) Beyond any other line of white stake
iv) In or over the river adjacent to the 1st, 2nd, 7th and 8th holes.
Black topped, white stakes do not define OOB but only identify the presence of OOB.
During play of the 5th hole, the stakes and trench identifying the OOB when playing the 6th hole are deemed Immovable Obstructions.
Protection of Young Trees Identified by Stakes or Sheaths
If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance the procedure prescribed Rule 16.1b.
Ground Under Repair
All areas encircled by white lines or Blue Stakes or identified by a GUR notice.
Practice
Practice is permitted on the course on any day of a Stroke Play competition only on the closely mown area adjacent to the 18th fairway.
Penalty Areas
Penalty Areas are marked out on holes 1, 6, 9, 17, 18, the ditch running behind hole 3 and the ditches running between 9 & 10 and across holes 9, 10 & 18
Supplementary Information re Paths and Penalty Areas
All paths with artificial surfaces are deemed to be Immovable Obstructions. Free relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b
The stone chip areas adjacent to the 18th bridge are not in the Penalty Area. Free relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b
All water crossings with artificial surfaces are in the Penalty Area. Relief, under penalty of one stroke, is available under Rule 17.1b. The ball may be played as it lies without penalty.
